According to itypeusa, Canada is a country located in North America and is the second-largest country in the world by total area. It has 10 provinces and three territories, stretching from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean. It is bordered by the United States to the south and northwest, Greenland to the northeast, and Russia to the north. Canada has a population of approximately 37 million people with two official languages, English and French. The majority of Canadians are of European descent with other ethnic backgrounds such as Indigenous peoples, South Asian, Chinese, Filipino, Latin American, African Canadian and more making up a large part of its population. The economy of Canada is one of the strongest in the world with a GDP per capita that ranks among some of the highest in the world. Canada’s main industries include mining & oil & gas extraction; manufacturing; services; retail trade; construction; transportation & warehousing; real estate & rental/leasing; finance & insurance services; health care & social assistance services; educational services; public administration services and more. Canada also has an impressive education system that includes both public schools as well as private institutions offering degrees at all levels from elementary school through post-secondary education. The country is known for its high quality universities such as McGill University in Montreal, University of Toronto in Toronto or University of British Columbia in Vancouver which attract students from all over the world each year. In terms of culture and entertainment Canada offers a variety of options including theatre performances, music festivals, art galleries/museums/exhibits, sports events (hockey being particularly popular) movie theatres, nightlife venues such as bars/pubs/clubs and much more! Finally when it comes to natural beauty Canada has plenty to offer including vast forests full of wildlife like bears & moose; majestic mountains for skiing/snowboarding or hiking/camping trips during summer months; crystal blue lakes perfect for swimming or kayaking activities and breathtaking views from coastlines along both its Atlantic & Pacific shores! Overall Canada is an amazing destination with something for everyone – whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation there’s no shortage of things to do here! From its vibrant cities full of culture to its stunning landscapes it’s no wonder why so many people choose Canada as their holiday destination each year! Canada is located in the North American Time Zone, which is four hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC-4). During Daylight Saving Time (DST), clocks are moved forward one hour to UTC-3. DST begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November each year. In addition to observing Daylight Saving Time along with other parts of North America, Canada also observes certain holidays with special times or exceptions to its standard time zone. For example, on New Year’s Day all clocks are moved forward by one hour for an additional hour of daylight savings time. On Canada Day (the day celebrating Canada’s independence from Britain), all clocks are moved back by two hours so that people can attend celebrations earlier at night; this is known as “Canada Miracle” or “Little Canada” in some parts of Canada. Canada also shares its time zone with other countries such as the United States and Mexico. This means that people living in these countries will experience the same time as those living in Canada during DST, but may observe different holidays with different times or exceptions to their standard time zone. Overall, Canada follows the North American Time Zone and observes Daylight Saving Time along with other parts of North America. It also has certain holidays where clocks are moved forward or backward for an additional hour so that people can attend celebrations earlier at night. VIU Exchange Program

Program I completed my studies at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo as a freemover, which offers the advantage of being able to choose a location that your home university does not offer. The winter semester at VIU begins in September and ends shortly before Christmas, so the times differ from those of many German universities, which in turn creates a time buffer that can be used for an internship or for traveling. According to Abbreviationfinder, VIU is the abbreviation of Vancouver…

SMU Exchange Program

Preparation The preparation through MicroEDU was really quite simple. I went to a general information event to get an overview of my options. Then it was time to choose which country I would like to go to and which universities would be suitable. I picked out 3 universities and discussed with my student advisory service at my home university which one would be best (based on courses and recognition ). It turned out that other students from my university and…

BU Exchange Program

After a bit of planning and research, I decided to spend a semester abroad through MicroEDU and to Canada – it would be Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. I chose this because two of my fellow students had already been there before and only reported good things about it. After a bit of a laborious search for an apartment, I found accommodation in advance and then flew to Canada at the end of August. There in Toronto – Pearson…

Of course, the whole thing might be a little less stressful if you start earlier. After receiving the acceptance, you will also receive your matriculation number – now the actual planning begins. If…
