Higher Education in Hawaii

Hawaii is home to numerous higher education institutions, both public and private. The University of Hawaii System is the largest higher education provider in the state, with 10 campuses across the islands. These include: UH Manoa, UH Hilo, UH West Oahu, Hawaii Community College, Honolulu Community College, Kauai Community College, Maui College and Windward Community College. Additionally, there are seven independent universities in Hawaii. These include Chaminade University of Honolulu and Brigham Young University-Hawaii in Laie. Private schools such as Pacific Rim Christian University in Honolulu and Wayland Baptist University-Hawaii Campus in Kahului provide students with a range of degree programs. There are also several community colleges that offer vocational training and certificate programs for students interested in a more specialized educational track. The Hawaiian Islands offer a wide variety of educational opportunities to its residents at all levels of higher education from traditional four-year universities to specialty technical schools.

Finally, there is the Big Island which offers something for everyone from snow-capped mountains to black sand beaches. It’s home to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park where visitors can witness active volcanoes up close or take a helicopter tour over Kilauea Caldera for an unforgettable experience. The Big Island also offers some amazing hikes such as Mauna Kea summit where you can watch the sunrise from 4200 meters above sea level!

The University of Hawaii at Manoa Shidler College of Business is the top business school in Hawaii. Located in the state’s capital city of Honolulu, it is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
