California is also known for the Golden Gate Bridge. The suspension bridge stands at the entrance to San Francisco Bay and is one of the seven longest suspension bridges in the world.
The Library Tower in Los Angeles is also worth seeing. It is 310 meters tall, making it the tallest building in the United States west of the Mississippi.
One of the largest airports in the world is Los Angeles International Airport.

The state of California is also known for its elite universities, such as Stanford University, the Calfornia Institute of Technology or California State University, etc. A detour to the Huntington’s disease library is also worthwhile, an educational and research facility in San Marino. This is a collection from railway pioneer Henry Huntington. The library’s pieces include five million manuscripts, half a million books, and 600,000 photographs. The art collection is also extremely impressive. You can see mainly English and French works from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Huntington Library does not only include the library and the extensive art collection. There is also a fantastic botanical garden to visit here.
Bookworms should n’t miss the California State Library in Sacramento. The California State Railroad Museum is also worth a visitin Sacramento. It is one of the best railroad museums in the United States.

Modern art with various exhibitions can be seen in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Other interesting museums in California are the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

A very special building in the USA is the Transamerica Pyramid. It was built within three years from 1969-1972. The Transamerica Pyramid is a skyscraper with a height of 260 meters and 48 floors, which was built in the shape of a four-sided pyramid.

Anyone who is already in California will surely also visit Hollywood, the world’s most famous center of the American film industry. It was founded by the Wilcox family in 1888. Today the world-famous film studios Warner Brothers or Universal Studios are located here.

A visit to the Painted Ladies is a must. These are wooden houses from the 19th century. The Capitol Tower is also worth seeing. The building was the world’s first circular office building in the shape of a pile of records on a record player.

But nature lovers don’t miss out in California either. So you should z. B. Yosemite National Park have seen. With 3,074 km² it is the largest national park on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada. There is not only a fantastic flora and fauna to experience here, the park is world famous because of the famous Sequoia trees. One of the highest waterfalls in the world can be found in the park, the Yosemite falls with a height of 750 meters. The Channel Islands National Park and the Joshua Tree National Park are also worth seeing.

The Death Valley National Park (Valley of Death) is the driest national park in the country with 13,628 square kilometers of Mojave Desert. Absolutely worth seeing as the park has an interesting history.

A detour to Redwood National and State Park is also worthwhile. As you can already guess from the name, there are some Coast Redwood trees from a naturally grown population of Coast Redwoods to see here.

San Francisco

San Francisco is located in the beautiful state of California and is certainly now known to most people in the world, at least by name. This is not least due to the fact that the famous Golden Gate Bridge is located there, but it is by far not the only attraction in this beautiful area, as you can see very quickly when you are in the city and take your time look around there in peace a little.

Above all, the many houses that are built in the Victorian style are known there, but also various interesting churches that come from different epochs and were therefore built in very different styles.
Among the opera houses and theaters, the Great American Music Hall is particularly important, which enjoys a very good reputation not only in the USA but also in the rest of the world and is one of the legends of today.

Various museums that are spread across the city and deal with a wide variety of disciplines round off the cultural offer. Among them, the museum on Alcatraz Island is particularly interesting, where you can see the history of this island with all the important events. Lombard Street and the Transamerica Pyramid are also some of the local attractions that shouldn’t be missed and that have really become something of a cult.

Of course, the Golden Gate Park is particularly well-known and popular among the city’s parks, where you can find peace and quiet, but also do sports and get distracted.
But there are also a few smaller parks that you can visit and which are no less beautiful. Many of the parks in San Francisco are home to other smaller sights, which are great places to pass the time and spend many wonderful hours.

Usually you meet quite a lot of people there who walk their dogs, which is so common in America and of course in this big city and is part of the daily routine that the people look after there.
