An 8-year compulsory compulsory school covers the age of
7 to 15 years. At the upper secondary level, in addition to
the standard gymnasium, vocational school, economic high
school, technical high school and music high school. There
are no colleges in the country, but the Liechtensteinians
have the right to free college education in Switzerland.
Vaduz, residence city and government seat of the Principality of
Liechtenstein on the eastern bank of the Rhine; 5425 residents (2014). In
addition to the post and ski museum, Vaduz has a state-of-the-art art collection
with varied painting exhibitions as well as the famous princely gallery. The
Vaduz Castle (Hohen-Liechtenstein), located on a cliff high above the city, is
the first residence. It was built in the 1300's, destroyed in 1499 during the
Swabian War and later rebuilt several times. The castle was restored in 1905-12
in the 1500-h style.
